Dr. Pere-Joan Torres, director of A.M.I.C., is a world-renowned fertility specialist with a humanistic vision.
Dr Torres was the first doctor in Spain to successfully deliver a baby using frozen ovules.
Dr Torres was Chief of Reproductive Medicine in the Department of Gynecology at the world-famous CEFER Institute and the renowned Teknon Clinic of Barcelona (where members of the Spanish royal family had their children). At the Teknon, Dr Torres founded and led a world-leading team specializing in the care of HIV positive couples.
Dr Torres has vast experience in fertility medicine including the latest, cutting-edge assisted reproduction techniques. He is a two-time winner of the Boi Guilera Prize, awarded by the Catalonian Obstetrics & Gynecology Society, for excellence in advancing medical science. Dr Torres has also won international awards for his study of "The Fetus as a Patient", exploring new applications of fetal ultrasound.
Dr Torres is a member of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE).
Dr Torres is also an educator. He holds a graduate degree in Educational Sciences and a post as Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Barcelona.
